OZ100SG Opto-Diode Data Sheet

VMI's 10kV opto-diode was designed to be used in conjunction with LEDs, or other light sources, to expose silicon junctions to light.

It is not an opto-coupler, but can be used as one.

Exposing the junctions to light generates reverse leakage in the photo-diode. The reverse leakage current can be used as feedback, which in turn can be used to control or monitor external signals or systems.

Factors effecting gain of the photo-diode include

• LED position and distance from the junctions
• Type of LED used
• Frequency of LEDs
• Light intensity of LED
• Percent exposure of the photo-diode junctions to light
